opens a branch office in Kematen

Successful establishment of a business and opening of a new branch

Innsbruck/Kematen, March 18, 2025: ZIMA UNTERBERGER is pleased to announce the first major business tenant for the former TUNAP site in Kematen near Innsbruck, which it acquired in 2022. Huppenkothen, the market leader in the import, distribution, and service of mini and compact construction machinery, is acquiring an approximately 11,000 m² plot of land to build its new branch in Tyrol.

Following initial discussions in 2023, Huppenkothen decided to establish a new facility in Kematen. “The perfect location, excellent transportation links, and existing infrastructure quickly won us over,” explains Wolfgang Rigo, Managing Director of Huppenkothen. With the new branch, the company will further strengthen its market presence and efficiency in the region and plans to create additional jobs at the new location.

ZIMA Tyrol Alexander Wolf is enthusiastic: “We are particularly pleased that we were able to successfully bring Huppenkothen on board as the first major tenant to move into the site. For the remaining 20,000 m², we are currently engaged in intensive discussions regarding the site’s further development, taking into account the existing buildings in line with the principles of a sustainable circular economy. The excellent access and visibility from the highway, as well as the immediate proximity to the train station, make this location particularly attractive for companies and, above all, for their employees. Not least for this reason, there is high demand from various well-known industrial firms.”

Huppenkothen took over the property in early November 2024. The permitting process for the new location is currently in full swing: the building permit application has been submitted, and the project is scheduled to begin in 2025.

A Future-Oriented Location in Tyrol The Vision for “
The remaining 20,000 m² is earmarked for innovative businesses. “We are developing THE future-oriented location in Tyrol commerce, industry, manufacturing, offices, research, and innovation,” says ZIMA Managing Director Alexander Wolf, outlining the vision for the site. “The combination of a prime location with state-of-the-art building concepts and a highly qualified workforce in Tyrol sustainable success for companies setting up operations here.
